Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
