NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary for the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage is available on designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following last week's discussion regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the amount of penalties each conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the fourth period against Denver, who play in London this Sunday.

But it was positive to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit before lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory by four points.

Denver boast the top defender with cornerback their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily sending more than four pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said during a show how the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended last season well then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while recent RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows how Denver are a squad aiming to run first, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and maintains in positive situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's highly agile.

His assets are his movement, being able to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up time and makes the defence to be on the field for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense has to cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think Payton likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. He can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. The key is to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
