Performer Refutes Anti-Vaccine Stance Following Voicing Controversial Coronavirus Feature
Liam Neeson has lent his vocal talents to a recent film that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and lauds former government figure RFK Jr.
The Documentary's Provocative Foundation
Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is based on a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for claims that Covid was linked to a faulty batch of the influenza shot.
The book's writing partner, a producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone radio host Alex Jones. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.
A Firm Rebuttal
A spokesperson for Neeson have issued a comment strongly denying suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vaccine beliefs.
"Everyone can acknowledge that misconduct might be present within the drug industry, but that must not be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the comment explains. "He has never been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His considerable work with Unicef highlights his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
The statement added that the star was not involved in crafting the project's narrative and that questions about its assertions ought to go to the producers.
Key Assertions In the Film
According to the documentary, the script read by Neeson makes several strong claims:
- It suggests that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to health authorities.
- It posits that "medical science has become dangerously politicized."
- Kennedy is shown saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- It takes aim at Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it references a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Controversy and Current Debates
It includes a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the corporation for editorial breaches.
Recently, RFK Jr instructed the national health agency to alter its long-held position that there is no link between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the film, despite a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation stating no connection has been found.
A Past Position of Advocacy
Standing in contrast to the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he described vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."
The documentary ends with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the end of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
