Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, according to media reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive Television Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, including:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"He guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
