The Renowned Musician Calls On Backing to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to send a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project aims to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The diverse array of musicians appearing on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the scene. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a considerable total for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a group of producers and composers. The song features a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a representative explained. “We aim for as much as possible. Obviously, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was described as its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of property reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is first of all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
